ADMISSION POLICIES
1. School records and entrance testing are considered in establishing the potential academic success of each applicant.
2. Students transferring from other schools must provide a transcript of academic achievement, conduct ratings, and health records. All immunization records and physical examinations must meet state and local school district guidelines.
3.Prospective Kindergarten students must be five years of age before October 1st of the school year.
4. The Shepherd’s School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origins to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities made available to the students of the school.
ADMISSION PROCEDURES
Completing the Application
The Shepherd’s School accepts applications at any time for the current academic year.
Applications may be submitted beginning in February for returning students and beginning in March for new students for the following academic year.
For each student applying, please:
1. Complete the appropriate application.
2. Attach the registration fee per student.
3. 2 letters of recommendation emailed to office@shepherdsschool.org 1- current teacher and 1 year prior- teacher.
4. Include a copy of the student’s birth certificate (copy must show seal).
5. Include a copy of the student’s social security card.
6. Include the student’s most recent report card.
7. Include the student’s most recent standardized test results. Your student’s school will have this information if you do not.
8. Sign and date the application before a notary public. This acknowledges that you have read and are in agreement with the school’s constitution. (The school secretary is a Notary Public)
9. Return this information to the school office.
FAMILY INTERVIEW
Upon receipt of the completed application, the school office will contact you to schedule your family interview and the student’s entrance examination. Both parents should attend the interview with their student(s). This is the time too get to know our distinctive education program and our administration, to state your reasons for seeking enrollment at TSS, and to discuss your child’s curriculum, special needs, and expectations for student life.
ACCEPTANCE
1. The families of accepted student’s will be notified.
2. The originals of the child’s most recent Physical Health Examination and Immunization Record must be submitted to the office.
3. A Copy of the child’s health insurance card must be submitted to the office.
